Sport of kings hit by power struggle

A power struggle is raging between two giants of British leisure – and the government has been caught in the middle.

On one side is the horse- racing industry. On the other are the bookmakers, who many of the sport’s practitioners feel have for too long made unhealthy levels of profit.
