MoD awards 10 tortured Iraqis nearly £3m

Ten Iraqis tortured by UK troops, including a hotel receptionist who died in custody after sustaining 93 injuries, were awarded nearly £3m in damages on Thursday by the Ministry of Defence.

The payout and apology follow a long legal battle and the first government admission of torture by British troops overseas.
