Gammon faces ban over Metro accident

Gammon India, the country’s largest civil engineering company, faces a possible two-year ban from key government transport contracts after the collapse of a section of the Delhi Metro killed six people earlier this month.

S. Jaipal Reddy, the minister for urban development, told the Indian parliament that as a result of an official investigation punitive action was being taken against senior officials and contractors for the fatal accident at a metro construction site on July 12.
