Oil and gas boom bolsters Rotork

Soaring oil prices helped Rotork, the Bath-based engineer that makes devices used in pipelines, raise profits sharply in the first six months of the year.

Sales grew 18 per cent in constant currency terms to £143.5m, while pre-tax profits also rose 18 per cent, to £33.3m.
