KKR eyes deal with Chinese dairy producer

Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, the US private equity fund, is in advanced talks to acquire a stake in a Chinese dairy producer, in a move that could herald a wave of fresh foreign investment in the tainted sector.

People familiar with the situation said that, barring any late developments, KKR would this month unveil a $100m investment in Mengniu Modern Farm, a mid-sized domestic producer based in Anhui province, eastern China.
