MPs call for scrutiny of Prince Charles’ tax advantages

Prince Charles has come under renewed pressure to open his accounts to scrutiny as MPs questioned why his main source of income was exempt from corporation and capital gains tax.

Edward Leigh, chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), has written to the Treasury questioning the tax advantages of the Duchies of Cornwall and Lancaster, which provide income for Prince Charles and the Queen.
