Met chief faces calls to quit over shooting

Sir Ian Blair should resign and the officers involved in the shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes should face criminal prosecution, lawyers for the Brazilian's family said yesterday.

The Metropolitan police commissioner also faced increased pressure from MPs last night in the wake of leaked documents revealing failures by anti-terrorist police. One member of the Commons home affairs committee even called into question his future as head of the Met.
