Court defeat over RBS supervision

Campaigners on Tuesday failed to win permission for a judicial review into what they allege are failings by the Treasury to impose minimum environmental and human rights standards on part-nationalised Royal Bank of Scotland.

Three campaign groups – World Development Movement, Platform and People & Planet – argued in court that the Treasury had the power to impose constraints on RBS in the same way that restrictions had been placed on bank bonuses.
