DMGT seeks to save £100m from cost cuts

The dismal outlook for the UK newspaper industry led Daily Mail & General Trust to announce plans to cut costs by £100m as profits at its regional and national titles fell.

The move, which has led to 400 job cuts and will include more, is designed to counter falling advertising revenue and rising newsprint costs.
