Dressed in his Giorgio Armani suit, Stefano Trovo, 38, of London’s Halkin hotel is as far removed from the traditional image of a hotel concierge – top-hat, uniform and palm at the ready – as it is possible to be.
Concierges have always been, and still are, a key point of contact for the business traveller but their role and appearance is changing. So much so, that modern concierges are almost unrecognisable from their predecessors of, say, 20 years ago.
