Non-sequiturs litter the history of technology like unexploded shells on a battlefield. It does not follow, for example, that investing heavily in information technology will give a company competitive advantage or bring commercial success.

Neither does it follow that throwing more manpower at a software problem will bring the project in on time and budget – quite the opposite is the usual result.
