Sage beats trend as Footsie slips

A weak US confidence reading left the FTSE 100 with its first weekly loss in five weeks on Friday, but Sage beat the trend.

The software maker gained 1.9 per cent to 212¾p after Panmure Gordon moved to a “buy” rating in advance of results next week from Intuit, its main rival in the US.
