Dolans in talks to take Cablevision private

Members of the Dolan family were on Tuesday night close to a deal to take private Cablevision Systems, the New York-based cable operator they founded in the 1970s, for about $10.5bn.

People familiar with the matter said the finishing touches were being put on a deal worth about $36 a share, or about 10 per cent more than Cablevision’s market value at close on Tuesday.
