Andrew Cosslett knows all about how business travel can go horrribly wrong. The chief executive of Intercontinental Hotels Group has not long completed a 27-hour trip that started in Melbourne, finished in Boston and lost his luggage at Los Angeles.

He spent three hours at LA simply reporting it lost, and did the same again for another two and a half hours at Boston when it didn’t show there either.
