Deutsche Börse on Wednesday confirmed that it was withdrawing its bid to merge with Euronext, leaving the Frankfurt exchange without a major partner and clearing the way for NYSE Group’s agreed bid for the Paris-based stock exchange.
The Börse launched its offer to merge with Euronext in June, after the Paris-based exchange agreed to combine with NYSE . Euronext plans to put the bid from the NYSE to a shareholder vote at or shortly after its annual meeting in December.
