Government hires IT troubleshooter

The former chief executive of Logica has been hired by the Treasury in an attempt to overturn the government’s sometimes disastrous track record on computer projects.

Martin Read, who was forced out of the IT services company after a boardroom spat in May 2007, will carry out a review of the public sector’s £13bn annual spending on computer schemes.
