UK state schools slammed for big class sizes

Britain has the western world’s biggest recorded gap between private and state schools in terms of primary class size, according to an international league table published on Tuesday.

The number of children per class at the country’s private primary schools is less than half the average class size at state schools, says a survey of 23 out of the 30 countries belonging to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.
