Duffield to leave New Star

John Duffield, the chairman and founder of New Star, will leave the struggling asset manager, according to people involved in talks over the company’s future.

Mr Duffield will leave either when the company is sold or at the end of a restructuring process that will see its five lending banks take 75 per cent of the equity for £240m of its £260m debt.
