Visteon failure creates headache for Ford

Visteon, the former supply arm of Ford Motor, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Thursday, marking one of the sector’s biggest business failures yet.

The company, which was spun off from Ford in 2000, said it had filed along with some of its US subsidiaries in the bankruptcy court in Delaware, and that none of its overseas units or joint ventures outside the US would be part of the filing.
