VW small vehicle focus to take on Toyota in US

Volkswagen, Europe’s largest carmaker, is flirting with the idea of expanding its model range in the US to tap the increasing demand for more compact and less fuel consuming cars in the region.

Stefan Jacoby, VW’s president and chief executive in the US, said the carmaker was considering bringing a model in the subcompact segment and a small sports utility vehicle to the US.
