Castro outfit and champagne in mayoral bid

Boris Johnson’s final push to be elected London mayor involved a Fidel Castro outfit, 48 bottles of champagne, 260kg of rubbish and 1.5m crime leaflets, according to records obtained by the Financial Times.

The breakdown of campaign expenses, recently submitted to City Hall, offers a detailed snapshot of Mr Johnson and Ken Livingstone’s spending habits and political priorities in the last six weeks of the fiercely contested London mayoral race.
