Kremlin denies missile deal with US

Russia’s foreign ministry has denied that there was a quid pro quo behind the US rejection of the eastern European missile shield.

How the missile shield would have lookedAndrei Nesterenko, spokesman for the ministry, said on Thursday such a reversal would be welcomed by Moscow but any sort of grand bargain with the US “was not consistent with our policy, nor our approach to solving problems with any nations, no matter how sensitive or complex they are”.
