IT companies have a long history of helping and supporting young people gain access to information technology and skills. But what has changed radically over the years is the nature of this support.
In the past, support was mostly about donating computer hardware (“putting boxes into classrooms or community centres”), but now, the emphasis is on providing young people with a whole range of skills covering IT, life skills, entrepreneurship and employability, to prepare them for the world of work or further education.
