The government is poised to invest £4.5m in a project to develop a small electric vehicle produced by Zytek Automotive Technology and Gordon Murray Design.

Zytek will supply the electric propulsion equipment, including the battery, and Gordon Murray will build the finished car using a new production system that promises to reduce costs radically.
