Zagreb on Wednesday confirmed the existence of the lethal H5N1 bird flu virus strain amid a precautionary warning by the European food safety authority (Efsa), advising Europeans to avoid eating raw eggs and cook chicken carefully to cut down any risk of contracting bird flu.
