Vodafone declares cricket deal over

English cricket suffered a double blow as Vodafone announced it was ending its 12-year relationship and the game’s bid for £60m ($92m) of public funding fell far short of its target.

The company will not renew its £4m-a-year deal with the England and Wales Cricket Board after next summer’s Ashes series and England’s winter tour of South Africa.
