Trichet adds to concern over euro

Global economic rebalancing should not lead to the dollar weakening against the euro, Jean-Claude Trichet, European Central Bank president, argued yesterday. His comments point to rising concern about the euro's recent strength.

Adjusting significantly his language on global currencies, Mr Trichet appeared concerned that the eurozone economies should not bear an additional burden as the global economy regains strength.
