Lloyd's rated higher on financial strength

Lloyd's, the London insurance market, has seen its financial strength ratings upgraded on the back of improved capitalisation and risk controls and the strong recent earnings figures from many Lloyd's companies.

Fitch, the credit rating agency, lifted Lloyd's by one notch from A- to A, and said its outlook was stable.
