It was another dismal day for Asia-Pacific equities on Thursday amid persistent fears over the impact of surging oil prices on inflation and slowing economies across the globe.

Oil prices hitting new records added to the woes of companies already struggling to pass on costs to customers, while the tumble in coal prices in Europe doused miners in negative sentiment across several markets.
