Sir, Reading your articles on the Chinese grappling with pollution problems ahead of the Olympics (“Emergency pollution plan unveiled”, “Top athletes gear up for competition with smog”, August 1), my heart goes out to all the athletes facing the royal dilemma in Beijing: to wear a mask or not at the opening ceremony and other places?
