Fast and chic: a hull of a designer

Revolutionary is a word often overused in yacht design, but, when it comes to the Monaco-based Wally yachts organisation, it is genuinely apt.

It is no exaggeration to say that Luca Bassani’s yacht-building operation launched in 1994 has changed the way people sail. He has helped inject flair into yacht design, speed into performance, and automation into almost all aspects of control, be it to trim the sails or cant a 20-tonne keel to one side of the yacht to increase its sailing efficiency.
