The opportunities open to Japanese financial groups and the more positive economic backdrop in the region have enhanced the attractiveness of the Japanese equity market, according to Joji Maki, manager of the Baring Japan Growth Trust.

“We have been positive on the prospects for the Japanese financial sector for some time and believe current market conditions present Japanese banks with a significant opportunity to enter strategic alliances and provide liquidity to some of the markets in the west,” he says.
