Wincanton in confident mood

Wincanton, the logistics group that manages Tesco's supply chain, said it was confident that it could withstand the economic woes gripping Britain after announcing a 12.6 per cent rise in pre-tax profits.

Graeme McFaull, chief executive, said Wincanton's "open book" contracts and operations across various industries make it resilient in downturns.
