Californian cash helps rule the wind

The world’s most powerful wind turbine will be built off the coast of Blyth in the north-east of England, following an investment from a California-based renewable energy group.

Clipper Windpower, which is based near Santa Barbara and listed on the Aim market, will develop several new offshore wind turbines, each one capable of generating 7.5MW of electricity.
