Vietnam’s top insurer to lead wave of listings

Bao Viet, Vietnam’s biggest insurer, has been given permission to list its shares on the Ho Chi Minh Exchange next week in the first of a wave of big financial players to hit the market.

The share sales mark an important step in the revitalisation of Vietnam’s stalled privatisation programme and traders hope that the listings will give Vietnam’s recovering exchanges more breadth and depth.
