BAT’s chairman choice risks controversy

British American Tobacco is to risk controversy by appointing as chairman a former governor of the Bank of Ireland.

Richard Burrows will take on one of the most powerful roles in British business when his position at the world’s second biggest cigarette maker is confirmed later this week.
