Panasonic sets Y400bn bond issue record

Panasonic has sold domestic corporate bonds worth a record Y400bn ($4bn) for a non-financial institution, the latest company with a high credit rating to tap the market.

The Japanese electronics company sold three-, five- and 10-year bonds to institutional investors. Spreads on Wednesday’s deal ranged from 60 basis points above equivalent Japanese government bonds to 75bp on the longer-dated bond.
