Borders eyes runners for Paperchase

Borders is looking at three private equity groups as potential acquirers for Paperchase, its upmarket stationery chain, as the troubled bookseller seeks cash.

HgCapital, Isis Equity Partners and Change Capital are frontrunners in the competition to buy the business, whose price tag is up to £80m.
