Rising portfolio value bolsters KKR

Improving value at its portfolio companies helped private equity firm KKR report economic net income of $356m for the third quarter compared with a loss of $479m a year ago.

KKR’s performance underscores the extent to which private equity firms have benefited from the rally in the stock and debt markets.
