Whitbread to beef up Premier Inn marketing

Whitbread responded to softening demand for its Premier Inn budget hotel chain by saying it would spend heavily on marketing and its salesforce to attack the three and four-star market.

Premier Inn, the UK’s budget hotel market leader, has been undermined by aggressive discounting from full-service operators as hotel groups chase trade from a shrinking pool of business travellers.
