Europhile hearts sink as Berlin and Paris turn on Brussels

Europhiles in France and Germany, the European Union's largest countries, face a worrying development: their governments appear to be becoming eurosceptic.

That, at least, is the impression conveyed by politicians in Paris and Berlin in their recent tussles with the European Commission in Brussels.
