The numbers of wealthy individuals grew fastest in Asia and North America last year, according to a new report.

The Merrill Lynch/ Capgemini World Wealth report found there were now 8.3m rich individuals across the world who had $1m (€818,000, £672,000) of spare cash to invest, excluding the value of their homes and pensions.
