Gazprom price row threat to European gas supplies

Gazprom, Russia's state-controlled gas giant, yesterday warned that its escalating price dispute with Belarus could disrupt supplies to Poland, Germany and Lithuania following an implicit threat by Belarus to stop the transit of Russian gas.

Gazprom and Belarus yesterday exchanged strongly worded threats echoing Russia's stand-off with Ukraine. A year ago Moscow turned off gas to Kiev, interrupting supplies to Europe.
