The universal digitisation of business processes and all types of data coupled with the pervasiveness of global connectivity has radically changed the marketplace for cybercrime, making it both a lucrative and accessible target for organised criminal groups who can operate anonymously from virtually anyplace in the world.

“Break-in” software and other malicious tools are even sold on the Internet – complete with customer support and upgrade packages.
