Siemens makes everything from light bulbs and trams to power stations and medical screening technology. With a hundred sprawling business units, that makes it Europe's largest engineering group.

But a spiralling €420m ($555m) bribery scandal at the German group is causing investors and legal experts to ask: is Siemens just too complex to control?
