Olympics boost for Camelot

Lottery sales grew 7.6 per cent in the first half of the year, Camelot announced yesterday, boosted by rollovers and the popularity of Olympic lottery sales during the Beijing games.

Dianne Thompson, chief executive, said that while she expected lottery sales to be hit by the economic downturn as customers reined in their spending, they were "one of the very last things to go".
