Trade union abandons Alitalia talks

Divisions surfaced on Monday among the Italian trade unions negotiating terms of the takeover of Alitalia by Air France-KLM when one of the leading unions walked out of talks.

The UIL transport union left the table, requesting postponement of negotiations with Jean-Cyril Spinetta, head of Air France-KLM, until after Italy’s general elections in mid-April.
