Hariri seeks to defuse Hizbollah dispute

Saad Hariri, the leader of Lebanon’s US-backed coalition, has adopted a conciliatory tone toward his opponents after his bloc retained its majority in closely fought parliamentary elections.

In an interview with the Financial Times, Mr Hariri said he was willing to offer Hizbollah and its allies in the opposition some assurances but that he wanted efficient government.
