Vonage hit by Sprint ruling

Vonage, the internet phone company, on Tuesday suffered a second legal defeat at the hands of an established carrier as Sprint won a patent infringement lawsuit.

A federal jury said Vonage had infringed six patents and should pay $69.5m in damages, causing a 34 per cent fall in its shares by the close in New York. They then rose 6 per cent in after-hours trading.
