Sony Ericsson swings to €213m loss

Sony Ericsson on Thursday reported a net loss of €213m ($300m) for the second quarter, as the mobile phone maker continued to experience a sharp slide in handset sales.

The joint venture between Japan’s Sony and Sweden’s Ericsson recorded unit sales of 13.8m in the three months to June 30, down 43 per cent on the same period last year.
